Susan Jane Rogers, 53, passed away peacefully on September 2, 2008 after a short illness in St. George. She was born July 26, 1955 in St. George, Utah to Will Rogers and DeWalla Bushhead Rogers. She lived on the Shivwits Paiute Indian Reservation with her long-time companion Fernando Gonzales.
After finishing school in St. George, Utah she worked as a housekeeper and homemaker. She loved spending time with family, friends and all the children. She enjoyed playing cards and bingo. She was a great bargain hunter and couldn't miss Monday night Raw/WWE.
Susan is survived by her brothers Glenn Rogers, St. George, Ut.; Harvey Rogers, Nebraska; Derek Rogers, Parowan, Utah and David Rogers, Cedar City, Utah. She is also survived by one niece, six great-nieces, three nephews and one great-nephew and many cousins.
A traditional all-night sing will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, September 5, 2008 at the Shivwits Community Center. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 6, 2008 at the Heritage LDS Branch, 260 East 1060 South in Ivins, Utah. A viewing will be held at the church one hour prior to services where friends and family may call. Interment will follow at the Shivwits Paiute Reservation Cemetery.
