Sylvia Eileen Hodgson Dalton, 57, died November 23rd, 2008 at her home in Orem. Born March 27, 1951 in Salt Lake City to Veldon Ray and Garda Gay Moulton Hodgson, Sylvia grew up in Whittier, California. She attended Rio Hondo College in Southern California, and later attended BYU-Provo. She worked as a professional runway model before serving an LDS mission to the Gulf States in 1974-1975. Sylvia married Michael Lynn Dalton on April 30, 1976 in the Los Angeles LDS Temple.
Sylvia was the mother of seven children, was a wonderful homemaker, and an advocate of homeschooling. She loved being a mother, and she loved to serve others. She was generous, she was fun, and she loved to laugh. Sylvia was adored by her family and friends.
Sylvia is survived by her husband Michael, children Lisa, Megan (Bryan Thomas), Matthew, Shannon (Brian Topham), Kira, Bryn, and Jacob; parents Veldon and Garda Hodgson; sisters Lorraine Hodgson, Julie Hodgson, Kerry Dixon; and brother Brett Hodgson.
Funeral services will be held at Orem Lakeview 3rd Ward (155 W. 1600 S.) in Orem on Saturday, November 29th at 11:00 a.m. A viewing will be held prior to the service at 10:00 a.m. Interment: Orem City Cemetery.
