CLINTON - With amazing grace and dignity Tecia Finlinson Stout moved towards death with smiles and laughter. She passed away peacefully on November 26, 2009. Tecia maintained an incredibly positive attitude even in the darkest moments and with the most overwhelming challenges. Her amazing character and fortitude allowed her to give comfort to well wishers to the very end with never a word of complaint.
Tecia was born on December 9, 1968 in Salt Lake City, Utah to David Shipley Finlinson and Judith Jean Dalton. She graduated from Clearfield High School. She received an Associates Degree from Dixie College and a Bachelor's Degree in Finance from University of Utah. After completing her education, she worked as a Bank Auditor for the FDIC.
On June 23, 1994 Tecia married David Lamar Stout for time and all eternity in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple. Tecia was a phenomenal mother, a loving wife, a devoted daughter, a dependable sibling, a responsible employee, a faithful Latter-Day Saint, and a loyal friend. She enjoyed reading and sharing many good books with friends and family. She loved bicycling; she trained for and participated in three century rides. She loved the gospel and learning about the life of our Savior. Tecia emulated Christ-like qualities and tirelessly served those around her. She was a lifelong member of the LDS Church. Tecia served in many capacities within the Primary and Young Women's organizations. She served diligently as Relief Society President showing her love for those she served. She created deep, meaningful, and lasting friendships. Tecia elevated her roles and responsibilities to uncommon planes. It was her thoughtfulness that resonated with people and made them realize that she redefined kindness.
Tecia found her greatest joy and interest in her children and their lives. She seamlessly intertwined her life in their daily activities of school and play. She actively sought after adventures and activities that brought lasting family memories and a focus on an eternal family perspective.
Tecia was preceded in death by her mother, Judith Jean Dalton Finlinson, and brother, Grant Dalton Finlinson. She leaves behind a loving husband and their two amazing children, Jared David Stout and McKell Nicole Stout, her father, David Shipley Finlinson, mother-in-law, Sandy Mitchell Stout, and father-in-law, Norman Clarence Stout. As well as three sisters, five brothers, seven sisters-in-law, four brothers-in-law, and twenty-three nieces and nephews who all love her.
Funeral services will be held Monday, November 30, 2009 at 11 am in the Clinton Utah 4th Ward Chapel located at 1448 West 1800 North. Friends and family may visit Sunday from 6 to 7 p.m. or Monday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church.
