Ted Jewkes Anderson

Ted Jewkes Anderson, 85, passed away on May 20, 2008, joining his beloved wife and sweetheart Dora Jean. He was born Jan 19, 1923 in Ephraim, Utah, to Ira Kenneth Anderson and Margarete Jewkes Anderson. He served in the United States Army during World War II. He married Dora Jean Meldrum on Dec 31, 1947. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Manti Temple.
He loved learning and was especially fond of church history and scripture study. One of the guiding principles of his life was to never have harsh words or bad feelings for anyone. He loved people and was a true friend to all. He was always happy and optimistic, joking and laughing much of the time. He was an excellent gardner and mechanic. Bringing great joy to his life was his family and especially his grandchildren. He always showed a genuine love and concern for each one, always up to date on each of their own personal interests and accomplishments.
He is survived by his 8 children: Margaret (Phillip) Behling, West Valley City; Rosalie (Don) Hooks, Elk Ridge; Darlene (Clarence-Butch) Holm, Palmyra; Ted Anderson, Phoenix, Arizona; Mary Anderson, Pleasant Grove; Melvin Anderson, Salt Lake City; Ruth (Glen) Bigelow, Fruit Heights; and David (Teri) Anderson, Orem; 29 grandchildren and 32 1/2 great grandchildren; 3 brothers, Monte, Rodney and Benjamin; and 4 sisters Vera, Leah, Norma and Mavis.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, May 23, 2008, at the East Bay 1st Ward LDS Chapel located at 434 W. 1200 S. Provo, Utah. A viewing will be held at 10:00 AM the day of the service.
Interment will be at the Tmpanogos Memorial Gardens located at 400 E. 1000 N., Orem, Utah.
In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Primary Children's Hospital or a charity of your choice.
