Ted Richard Frandsen

Ted Richard Frandsen 1951-2012
Ted Richard Frandsen was born on July 19th, 1951 to Richard and Elinor Frandsen in Salt Lake City, UT. He spent his childhood in Southern California.
At the age of 19 he was called to serve a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in the Hermosillo Mexico Mission. His missionary experience was a highlight of his life, and he enjoyed teaching and helping the humble people there. He later used his Spanish in business and in serving in various roles in Spanish speaking wards of his church.
Ted graduated with a bachelor's degree in business from Brigham Young University. He spent much of his professional career working in the real estate field, mainly working in residential real estate but also spending some time on commercial projects. He worked as a realtor and broker and also spent several years working as a home appraiser.
Ted was an avid sports fan and that carried over into his almost lifelong hobby of collecting sports cards and memorabilia. He enjoyed following sports teams such as the Los Angeles Lakers and the LA Kings. As a child he mentioned that one of his highlights was going to the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, thanks to tickets that his dad had won from a contest entry form. That memory became something of an annual tradition, as he loved seeing that bowl game every year.
He also loved fishing and often took his three sons fishing to a trout farm or out on popular fishing areas off the California coast. The fishing was always hit and miss but it was typically a good time for all.
He also enjoyed serving in the church and found great satisfaction in that. He served in callings such as high councilor, ward clerk, bishopric counselor, executive secretary, elder's quorum president, and others. He also served as a temple ordinance worker. He particularly enjoyed working with the young adults and children. His favorite church hymn was There is a Green Hill Far Away.
He is survived by Alene Frandsen, former wife, his sister, Diane Southwick, her son Ryan, and three sons: Brian, Matthew (MariCarmen), and Russell (Maraly) Frandsen. He was also the Grandpa to six adorable grand-children; Michael, Samuel, and Rebekah (Matthew and MariCarmen's children) and SueHaly, Eliza, and CJ (Russell and Maraly's children). The grandkids liked to call him Apa and were definitely his greatest source of joy.
Ted will be missed! We love you Pops, Grandpa, Brother
