Words cannot express the loss we feel in the passing of Teri Elizabeth Jackson, our daughter, sister and friend. She died in a tragic accident while swimming in the Colorado River on July 15, 2011. She was camping in Moab with her boyfriend, Matt Hebert, and his family. Teri was born December 28, 1990 in Orem, Utah. She is survived by her parents, Karl and Susan, siblings, James (Jana) and Christine, and her best friend and love of her life, Matt Hebert. She attended Orem High School through 2009. Teri loved being outdoors, and enjoyed camping and hiking with Matt and her dog, Dustie. An avid artist, she enjoyed painting and drawing, using her creativity to express her feelings. She had an bright smile and people would yell, "Teri!" when she entered a room. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 27, 2011 at the LDS chapel located at 150 East 600 North in Orem. A visitation will be held the previous evening on July 26 from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., on July 27 and from 10:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. at the same location as the funeral. We express sincere gratitude to the Grand County Sheriff's Search and Rescue and to the residents of Moab who helped in the search for Teri, to the owner and the manager of Red Stone Inn, to the members of the Orem Utah Sharon Park Stake, and for all the prayers and concern for Teri and our family. In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to be made to the National Education Alliance for Borderline Personality Disorder (www.borderlinepersonalitydisorder.com) or to the National Alliance on Mental Illness (www.namiut.org).
