Terrell Wayne Ewing

Our hero, Terrell Wayne Ewing Jr., 46, passed away on March 22, 2007 in Orem, Utah from complications due to his courageous battle with Huntington's disease. Terrell was born on July 2, 1960 in San Diego, California to Terrell Wayne Ewing Sr. and Dorothy Elizabeth McColley.
Terrell was raised in Whittier, California. While still a teenager, he moved to San Antonio, Texas and graduated from MacArther High School. Only 18 months after joining the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, he faithfully served a 2-year mission in Orsono, Chile. He graduated with his Associates Degree from Ricks College in Rexburg, Idaho then later graduated with a BA degree in American Studies from Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah.
California is where he found his love for baseball. He became an excellent player and played through high school and college. In Texas he embraced what he considered his greatest gift: the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Then in Utah Terrell found and married his Eternal Sweetheart, Shauna Poulos, in the Manti, Utah Temple on June 25, 1987. Later their circle was complete when they were blessed with 2 spectacular children. Their marriage has been one of love and deep commitment and they have cherished a 20-year romance.
As an active member of the LDS church, he served in many stake and ward positions. He enjoyed teaching and sharing his testimony. Terrell truly loved all people. He had a hug for everyone and gave freely of his time and talents. His family was his greatest joy and his presence will be greatly missed.
Terrell is survived by his wife Shauna, daughter Melissa and son Steven. He is also survived by his mother; his brothers David, Rory and Vincent (Veronica) Ewing; a sister Velina (Joseph) Rodriguez and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his father.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00am, on Friday, March 30, 2007 at the Sharon 5th Ward Chapel, 545 South 800 East, Orem, Utah. A viewing will be held one hour prior to the service and from 6:00-8:00pm on Thursday, March 29 at the same location. Interment held at Orem City Cemetery.
