Vern Paul Hough passed away at Manor Care Health Services, Ogden, Utah on March 21, 2007. He was born October 25, 1917 in Chicago, Illinois to Michael Arnold and Bertha Hough.
Vern lived in Chicago, Illinois until 8 years old when his family moved to Hopkins, near Grand Rapids, Michigan and in his early adult years, worked for General Motors. He served as a Corporal in the CCC in 1937.
He married Sarah Marie Hansen in the Logan, Utah L.D.S. Temple, July 15, 1941. They made their home in Pocatello, Idaho where he owned a car dealership and was very active in church and civic activities.
Vern played sports, boxing, football and semi-professional baseball. He followed the Chicago Cub's baseball games for years. His bowling team won the Idaho State Bowling Championship in 1952. He was a charter member and Executive Board member of the Oakridge Country Club, Farmington, Utah. Vern and Mitzi enjoyed their life together, bowling, swimming, traveling, working, and activities with family and friends.
Vern and Mitzi owned several car dealerships, a bowling alley, a drive-in, and Bonus Gas. His varied talents also included Auctioneering. Church callings in the Bishopric, High Priest Group Leadership and Temple Service for the Church of Jesus Christ of L.D.S. were a great blessing to his life.
Vern anxiously looked forward to being with his wife, son and parents. Surviving are two children, Sandy (Boyd) Heslop and COL. Vern Paul (Lynn) Hough. He was a grandfather of ten grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren.

Services will begin immediately following the viewing.
Internment will be at Mt. View Cemetery in Pocatello, Idaho.
