Vernon R. Southworth, 85, died peacefully at his hone in Saratoga Springs Utah on Sunday, September 17th 2006. He was born July 14th, 1921 in Paradise California, to Newell P. and Katherine A. Gallitan Southworth. He attended schools in Paradise and Chico CA. On May 11, 1956 he married Norma LaNae Pettit in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. Vern was in the grocery business. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He enjoyed fishing, boating, and going to Alaska. He loved to tell stories about his ancestors, be with his family, and serve in the Church. Survivors include his wife, LaNae; children, Carol (Tony) Torchie of Spokane WA, Marjorie Southworth of Saratoga Springs UT, LaNae (Adam) Dickson of Enumclaw WA, Janna (Kevin) Adamson of Lindon UT, and JoLayne (David) Whitenight of Port Orchard WA; 30 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, and his older brother Walter. There will be a viewing at 12 pm and Funeral Services will be at 1 pm Saturday, September 23rd, at the LDS Chapel located at 49 East Centennial Burial Blvd. in Saratoga Springs.
