Violet Joan (Watson) Hyde
Violet passed away Sun. 21 June 2009. She was 84. She was born 5 Jan. 1925 in London, England. Preceded in death by her husband ,William Edward Hyde, who died April 1990. She is survived by her two daughters, Janice (Jeff) Woodcock (Kent, England) and Deborah (Scott) Knight; grandson, Thomas Knight (South Jordan, Utah); and her sister, Doris (Pete) Dewberry (Jaywick, England). Mum emigrated to the United States in 2002, but remained a true Brit through and through. Always cheerful and radiant, she lifted others with her beautiful smile and sense of humour. Mum loved animals, traveling, and to be outdoors. She loved to paint and draw, and had been a talented dancer/performer in the 1940's. She enjoyed every job she ever had, and made the most of whatever came her way. She survived an outbreak of tuberculosis when she was 25, lost a lung, and was left almost completely deaf from the medication that saved her life - but she never skipped a beat. Mum joined the LDS church in August 2008, and went from drinking green tea for almost 83 years to drinking herbal mint tea, with milk of course! Her family is so very grateful to Sandra, Barbara, Bill, Pearson, Mary, and Ollie of the hospice team for their help, care, and concern. Thank you. A viewing will be held Saturday, June 27, 2009, at the Country Crossing 10th Ward chapel, 2812 West 11800 South, South Jordan, at 9:00-9:40 a.m., followed by funeral services at 10:00 a.m. Interment at Wasatch Lawn Cemetery, 3401 South Highland Dr., Salt Lake City, Utah.
