Warren Edgar Jensen, 80, passed away on Monday, November 19, 2007 in Provo, Utah. He was born September 3, 1927 in Delta, Utah to Arthur and Ruth Jeffery Jensen. Warren is survived by his wife Verla Muir Jensen, six children - Regena (Dave) Garfield (Brigham City, UT), David (GayLynn) Jensen (Mapleton, UT), Michelle (Val) Cummings (SLC, UT), Douglas (Sherron) Jensen (Wauchula, FL), Sherie (Doug) Flagg (Delta, UT), and Valinda Rose (Springville, UT), ten grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. He is also survived by sisters Arvilla Faris (Bob, deceased), Colene (Leon) Hicken, Zelma Jensen, Sybil Jensen Johnson, and brother Dan (Annette) Jensen. He is preceded in death by his brothers, Elbert and Rex, and his son, Barlow Jensen. Warren graduated from Delta High School and Utah State Agricultural College (USU 1953), and served in the LDS Central Pacific Mission. He married Verla M. Jensen in the Logan LDS Temple on Jan. 24, 1952. Warren served in the U.S. Air Force as a pilot. He also participated in planning worldwide military exercises and retired as a full Colonel from the USAFR. He received numerous awards, including the prestigious Legion of Merit award. During his military career he also farmed several hundred acres in Delta, Utah. He was an Eagle Scout, LDS Bishop, Millard County Commissioner, Area Giant for the Delta Area Chamber of Commerce, founder and chair of Utah Association of Local Boards of Health (UALBH), and assisted in the founding of the National Association of Local Boards of Health (NALBOH). In 1997, he received NALBOH's most prestigious national award given to a local board of health member who has exhibited outstanding leadership and service in the field of public health. Funeral Services will be held at the Gunnison Bend Ward chapel at 188 N. Main, Hinckley, UT on Monday, November 26, 2007 at 11 am. Viewings will be held at the same location on Sunday, November 25, 2007 from 6-8 pm and Monday, November 26 from 9-10:30 am. Interment will be at the Delta City Cemetery.
