William B Hepting

William B Hepting, 85, of Riverton, Utah and formerly of Evanston, Wyoming, passed away Sunday, February 6, 2011 in Draper, Utah at the Draper Rehabilitation and Care Center.
William was born March 12, 1925 in Blossburg, Pennsylvania, the son of Hanry William Stratton and Etta Barbor. He grew up in the care of his mother and step-father Ben Hepting.
He attended schools in Salt Lake City, Utah including West High School. At the age of 15 during World War II he joined the Military. He was found to be too young and was sent away. He returned to his mother who signed his form that gave him permission to return to the military. He served in the Navy twice. Once during WWII and again during the Korean Conflict.
William married Jenese King in Folkston, Georgia on January 15, 1956. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on July 7, 1965. He owned his own culinary supply business and worked as a salesman in the food supply industry throughout the Salt Lake area.
He was quite the pool player and had competed throughout Utah and Wyoming. While living in Evanston he would enter the tournaments at the Evanston Senior Center where they would compete against other teams. He loved to go fishing and travel. He drove everywhere and has been everywhere.
William is survived by his children; Mike Hepting, Ann Amini, Cecil (Dorothy) Hepting, June (Bobby) Allsup, Brenda Blevens, Bill (Bonnie) Hepting Jr. and Ben (Tina) Hepting. He is also survived by his sister; Mary Stratton.
He was preceded in death by his brothers; Jay and Doc Stratton and his parents.
A graveside service will be held Thursday, February 10, 2011 at 1:00 pm in the Utah Veterans Memorial Park Cemetery (17111 South Camp William Road, Bluffdale, Utah).
