Zella was a life long member of the LDS Church and held many callings over the years, including many years as a Primary President. She loved to sew and made most of her daughters' clothes as they were growing up. She won many blue ribbons for her afghans and doll making. Zella had a "green thumb" and her kitchen table became a hospital for everyone's sick African Violets.
For many years, she belonged to various Provo area women's singing groups. She and her husband Marvin were very active at the Provo Senior Citizen's Center. She retired from the BYU payroll department in 1975.
Zella was a friend to everyone she met. In her later year living at Cove Point Retirement Center and Trinity Mission Assisted Living Center, when she said "I love you", you knew she really did. Her family plans to celebrate her life at a memorial service in the spring.
